Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that provides that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Lawrence County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor emails the site, the message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal web-server and analytics records may capture technical facts about a visit:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring site, when supplied
- Date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that can help measure traffic, popular pages, and navigation patterns. Analytics providers may combine those events into aggregate reports. Browser controls can reject cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected visitor and technical data may be used for the following operating purposes:
- Delivering pages and keeping the service available
- Passing a requested search to the correct provider
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Finding performance, security, and technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may be based on interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Lawrence County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of Alabama court dockets or personal case records. It publishes directions to the Lawrence County Circuit Clerk, trial courts, municipal courts, Probate office, and statewide services that control those records. Public access to eligible Alabama court files is governed by the Alabama Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality, including Rule 201 on electronic viewing at the clerk's office. Those official rules do not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power search boxes on some pages. Information submitted through a tool is covered by that company's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those matters are controlled by the provider. Review its terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Alabama courts, the Lawrence County Circuit Clerk, case portals, legal resources, advertisers, or search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's policy governs the visit. Read it before sending personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites. That collection occurs on their systems and under their rules.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search providers processing a query
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks placing ads
- Authorities responding to a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for data under the site's control. No online service can promise perfect security, so a breach or loss cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with the law that applies to a visitor and the kind of data involved. A person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held by the site
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information when the law allows
- Opt out of an eligible type of processing
These visitor-data requests are separate from access to Alabama judicial records under the Alabama Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality. A court-record request belongs with the Lawrence County court or clerk that keeps the file.
